This project located in Northwest London, aimed to refresh the client’s living–dining room.
The existing style was traditional with heavy curtains and many deep gold accents. A navy blue carpet fills the room with a strong colour, which the client decided to keep. The main source of inspiration came from a painting of the client from when she was a young girl. The beautiful accents of aqua and other tones of blue inspired me to add this colour as part of the upholstery.

The room was lifted by light reflective wallpaper in a sandy colour. The heavy gold elements were replaced with a lighter tone of gold. Some of the antiques have been replaced with modern furniture but we kept few pieces which had meaning for the client.
The style created is elegant but with some eclectic decorations which came from the client’s travels. Without heavy curtains the room looks brighter and airier. The timeless shapes of the new sofas and table and chairs also gives the room a refined touch.
